Trying to get better at spotting counterfeits since being a victim of a 1916-D when I was younger. Have tried to only get certifird coins. In any case my untrained eye sees the D is lined up parallel to the bottom of the coin and is not parallel with the date - is that how you figured it out?

The space between the 9 and the "1" is a dead giveaway.

Puglife, your effort is appreciated, but once you've seen that I've reported it there is no need for you to do it.
