ahen trying to get banks to order me half dollars, they told me I could order them from the treasury or federal reserve for myself online. When I txt to look online I can not find it. Has anyone ever done it I am curious to what the price is versus the face false of the coins in ordering and if It is cheaper for larger amounts. If someone has any info on this please let me know

You cannot order them directly from the Treasury or the Fed.

You can order them directly from the US Mint...at a premium.

U.S. Mint orders would be for collectors' (numismatic) coins only.

I'd stick to a bank. Usually if you have an account there, SHOULD be no charge. I've never tried this but have been told at my local BOA bank that I could and there would be no charge.

I agree with Carl, order from the bank. I've ordered from multiple banks for years and never have been charged a fee.

Where the banks get you though, is in their maintenance fees for your account(s). $15 monthly maintenance fee for a minimum deposit account? Please. Then keep raising the bar. It's why I'm done with banks. I'm part owner of two Credit Unions.
