What Do You Do With New Boxes? - Coin Community Forum

I have a few people getting boxes of pennies for me here and there and sometimes I end up with brand new boxes. My plan was to save a new box each year but it's happening more often now. I am lucky enough that a gas station in town trusts me and will buy them from me if I want to get rid of them. I just get the $25 in gas. I saved one from 2015 and recently got a 2016 box so I put them away. This week I just got another 2015. Is it worth saving? Do you guys still search these for errors? Are some years better to hold on to? I would love to hear some comments on this. Thanks, Kevin in CT. Report this Post to the Staff

John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 07/10/2016 11:59 am When I am lucky enough to get a full box of new cents I pick a few rolls to keep unopened that are heads/tails and then search the rest. I held on to the brand new loose rolls when they didn't have full boxes but I have gotten rid of a good number of boxes the last few years. Maybe I will continue to put them away until I have better knowledge of what errors to look for. Report this Post to the Staff
