I have a few questions. I have a few people getting boxes of pennies for me here and there and sometimes I end up with brand new boxes. My plan was to save a new box each year but it's happening more often now. I am lucky enough that a gas station in town trusts me and will buy them from me if I want to get rid of them. I just get the $25 in gas. I saved one from 2015 and recently got a 2016 box so I put them away. This week I just got another 2015.
Is it worth saving?
Do you guys still search these for errors?
Are some years better to hold on to?

I would love to hear some comments on this. Thanks, Kevin in CT.

When I am lucky enough to get a full box of new cents I pick a few rolls to keep unopened that are heads/tails and then search the rest. I look for errors/varieties and high grade coins to keep.

John1, are they hard to come by? I seem to be getting them often. My past practice was to sell them to the gas station. I held on to the brand new loose rolls when they didn't have full boxes but I have gotten rid of a good number of boxes the last few years. Maybe I will continue to put them away until I have better knowledge of what errors to look for.

Another week, another new box. All 2015's. I was looking forward to cracking a box. Oh well, I'll add it to the new box pile.
