I found a penny with a weirdly struck date and I'm pretty sure I already saw something like this in the past but I'm not able to remember where :(
Is it a variety or an error? Any reference?

Note how the damaged area is parallel to the rim? That indicates that the metal was moved with a vending machine or coin counter. It wasn't struck like that.
