Hi all,
Am wondering if anyone has, or can direct me to, a very clear image of a Canadian 1968 nickel, especially important for me to see the reverse(the Beaver side) as to how a perfectly made one looks so I can compare it to one I have. I googled and even checked e bay but couldn't find any good images and am very frustrated LOL Any help greatly appreciated, and thanks!
Actually, does anyone know of a site online that shows very clear photo images of ALL the Canadian years coins? I'm mainly interested in the last century (early 1900's through to present)
Thanks ...
Dottir.

If you could do that, that would be great Jamez.
I'm most interested in getting a very clear look at the tip of the beavers tail and the water lines around it, of how it's "supposed to look"
Thank you in case you do get and post that pic!

Hello. Have been searching a found a rare few of the 1968 Canadian nickels and the ones I've seen don't have the flaws that mine does at the tail (it's not what they call a bug tail!) What's happening is the 3/water lines above the tail did not fill in fully, one of them almost not at all, and there is "smooth bead" of metal sitting up against the tail at about the 2nd water line above the base of the tail. Here is what all the other ones on e bay that I looked at look like: http://cgi.ebay.ca/1968-Nickel-ULTR...ix_W0QQitemZ270209269753QQihZ017QQcategoryZ3387QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Do I have myself an error coin, do you think? Interested in hearing feedback :) Thanks ... Dottir.

Dottir-- Did you buy a coin in an "NNC" slab like that ebay auction? Be wary of that outfit, because those slabs aren't quite legit and overgrade their coins.

Hi Kurt. Thanks for the heads up, but not to worry about me. I'm not set up to buy and sell online through epay. I just posted that link to show an image of what all other '68 nickels I've seen look like. Mine is "flawed" ... and am hoping that means a whole lot more valuable than 5 cents :D
Regards epay, I dunno whether I'd trust most of who I see trying to sell stuff anyways. Especially not when they try to hard sell and hook you in with sensationalism EXTREMELY RARE DO NOT PASS THIS UP (you schmuck LOL) etc Like any biz dealings though, I guess you get the good and the bad and it's buyer/seller beware. I tend to be leary of too good to be true ;)
I appreciate you looking out for me!!
And what is "NNC"?

Very interesting thing today. I picked up another roll of nickels from the bank and happened to find another 1968 one with the same kind of flaw ... slightly less of a bead, but am wondering if they're pretty common with that years coin now :( but again, the images I've seen online, NONE of them have what these two nickels do!! At least not so far!

That's an excellent image, Marc! Thanks.
That coin you linked to does NOT have the flaw that my nickels do either. This is interesting, because if it's an error in minting properly, and I now have two in my possession, there must be more out there (you would think so, just because I've come across two now!) and so why have I not come across mentions or images. It's either known about and ignored as no special value, or something newly noticed, and I have a hard time believing that with all the coin collectors out there that no one noticed this until me :D since 1968!
Help me solve this mystery? :)

And I'd really like to show you one but can't as yet. Didn't make it to the library to ask if its possible to scan a coin and somehow email it to myself then upload here or somewhere for you all to view. I'm working on how to get images and uploaded ;) Meanwhile I'll keep brwosing and see if I can spot one online like mine at least ;)

By the way ... the bead does not detract from the attractiveness of the coins. They are just "there" and not a mess/chunky. Very rounded and smooth/shiny! Reminds me of how molten metal beads up.
