...so, I have been looking on the 'Bay for some coins! My mom gave me a $50 limit, so I put it to good use. I used $9 of my own money to get some of this. Here's what I snagged: 1: 1974 D 50c DDO-001 for $7.85, I think the seller meant to list it as $17.85 because I went back to look at some of his other coins and the same coin was $17.85 2: 1942 P 50c WDDR-001 for $25. 3: 2001 P 25c KY Cud for $10.82. 4: Three rolls of wheat cents for $15. This thread is mainly just for my birthday. I'm excited to start driving because I've done it every day for the past year, and I want to get out metal detecting. I'm rather good at driving too, not that I'll be cocky when I get behind the wheel. I'm smarter than that.  *Seller's photos*           Edited by CoinCollector2000

I have an Ace 250 that I've had for three years. I haven't been able to use it much, due to my age, but I have found a 1936 P Washington, a silver earring, 1918 S Mercury, and 1943 Mercury, and Five Wheat cents from my grandmother's yard

Driving can be more than just cool. I drove an eighteen-wheeler for 16 years, saved my pennies & retired at 49 ! If I had bought a silver dollar every year since I was your age, I would have a bucket of 'em !

What a birthday surprise! I went by a bank today and found a full roll of wheat cents! No errors, but still an awesome find! I'm gonna go back and check the bank again tomorrow.

I was buying Austrlian sovereigns at 16, but I had an advantage: I had a nicely paying job (employed by my father), in my high school days, from 12 years old. Still avidly collecting coins with the new enthusiasm of a kid, more than 50 years later.
I see that with the assistance of your mom, you are on the right track!
