I came across an Indian Head penny for sale and the owner does not know how much to ask and I don't know what to offer. I'm worried about fakes of course and only have two pictures to go by. Does anyone see anything good or bad with these pictures. Any idea of value from the pics would help as well. Thanks in advance, Kevin. Edited by yanks21 07/14/2016 01:01 am

Very worn, severely damaged in multiple ways (cleaned, plated/polished, enviromental damage, quite possibly bent) and worth about $0.01. Not worth faking.

This is a common date in the IHC series. The coin suffers from either environmental damage or a harsh cleaning, or both due to the splotchy and uneven color. Pretty much a junk bin coin worth a dollar at most. Are you starting an Indian Head cent collection?

Thanks for the quick replies. I just pick up coins here and there to put away for my daughter. I just realized how I spelled Indian in my title. I should have waited until the morning after some good sleep to post that question. Thanks everyone!

Technically any Indian Head cent is worth more than $0.01 due to the Copper content

Even so, I wouldn't pay more than one cent for this one! Anyway, yanks - to the CCF!

Thanks everyone. I was told it was sold. I wasn't sure of key dates with those.

All good Kevin. That was one to let slip away. Do you have a Red Book? You can get to know what coins are semi-key or key for the next item to come along.
