Roosevelt Dimes; 1964 & earlier are 90% Silver. 1967 are copper nickel clad. Value 10 cents. Somebody needing that specific date or mint mark to fill a space in an album might pay a little more.

There are markings to the let of the date. Those are the engravers initials. Completely normal. If you google your coin you should be able to find an enlarged version that is exact. I hope you stick around the site. There is a ton of great knowledge and information. People here are very friendly and you never know what you might learn next.

Sometimes you may think you have a rare coin, ask a question, and in the answer you may find out another coin you had was rare instead. It's a lot of fun once you catch the bug.

The markings to the left of the date are the designer initials, JS for John Sinnock.

Every time someone posts a question that doesn't have pictures the other members beg for them.

There is even this icon--->

So post away. The more pictures the better. It is the best way to see what you are referencing. We may think we know what you are talking about, but your coin may in fact be different, and a picture would show that.
