Hello
Can you help me with the identification of that coin?
It is dated 1861
Perhaps it is a token; has somebody already seen such a coin?
Thank you

A fantasy piece likely made in China. No such coin was ever authorized or minted in the United States as authentic coinage.

For sure, it is not a coin from Krause.
But it doesn't look like a Chinese imitation: it is an used one, and is in silver.
The item is coming fom India.

I am just asking if somebody has already seen such a coin (token).
Thank you

This is the so-called "Indian Head Dollar". Very common fantasy type, apparently of Chinese origin. It says 1851, not 1861, incidentally.

Why are you so sure it's silver?

It's difficult to identify metals over the internet but, guessing from the oxidation, that fantasy coin looks like it's copper-nickel.

Not to be rude or anything but what makes you so sure it's silver? For all I know that might even be some strange lead-tin coin.

And appearing to be used means nothing. The Chinese have gotten good at faking patinas on their counterfeit coins. Look here:

I really don't know if it is silver or not.
I will consider that it is a fake made of nickel-copper.

What was strange for me was the oxidation which is not like uniform patina.
In most cases, Chinese forgers make fakes with very beautiful patina ( even better that for a genuine one! )

Thank you for your opinions.
