Hi all, How do like my Toned Quarter and Dime. Do you think they have a chance for the * designation?

The quarter looks pretty awesome in my opinion. But since I'm a noob at this, it doesn't really mean anything!

Hi Miterman,
I like them both and they do appear to be high mint-state grades. If they were my coins I would probably be willing to risk the grading fee. I don't have a handle on how NGC decides to award their stars, though. It's definitely a gamble but the potential pay-off is attractive.

If you do decide to submit them, let us know how it turns out!

Some toning isn't attractive I for one like the coloring, other toning can be quite ugly.
They are mint state but I been kicking the idea of slabbing them.
Thanks for the opinions

Both coins could have gotten their toning from an old Wayte Raymond album. I bought a complete set of Roosevelt dimes from a gentleman who was given the set for his birthday in 1958. Most of the dimes had very similar toning to your dime.

I think both are worth slabbing if for no other reason than preserving them.

Just curious, where did you get them?
