Hello CCF! -

First, let me say, this site is great!

I am here to figure out the best thing to do with my inherited lot of coins. I have a dollar pieces, halves, quarters, dimes and nickels. These coins have been in a lock box for over 30 years.

I have reviewed the inherited coins section and performed a cursory inventory. I have interest, but, no time and would like to place these coins in the "proper home" for a proper price. I am in the Dayton Ohio area. If there is anyone that would like to assist me in this effort, please let me know. Thanks, CPaul ~

How much stuff you got? I am only 3 hours away!! I would love to take those if your hands.

Hi BigSilver ~
I am in the Dayton area, not sure where Engagement is either. There is Englewood close by, but...
I have around 465 halves,700 quarters, 800 dimes and about 120 nickels - all 1964 and down.
There are 2 silver dollars - 1923 and 1882. Around 16 of the lot I would consider "melt" as they do not have readable dates.

I can provide a bit more information if there is interest.

What general year range are the halves, quarters, dimes, and nickels?

Has the collection been inventoried already?

I am sorry for your loss.

The loss was not recent, nonetheless, Thanks for the kind thoughts.

I have inventoried, though not extensively for the dimes and nickels.
Halves - 1917 - 1964 with a heavy amount in the '40's
Quarters - the bulk ranges from 1934 - 1964 - there are some outliers like 1 - 1902 that I would consider low on the scale, from what little experience I have.
Dimes - There are 177 Mercury and 623 Roosevelt. I do not have the years broken down, but, can if need be.
Nickels - All are Jeffersons from 1964 and down.

I hope this helps.
