It's odd to me. It doesn't look like any Die Crack I've ever seen. It does seem to be only in the field though. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm...

I agree it could be a gouge but that year had multiple clash events. Maybe BJ or Mike can rule that out...or in as it may be.

It could be a die gouge but since it is a VLDS coin, It could be Die Deterioration.

I'm leaning more towards a die dent. The die may have been dented by another die leaning an incuse mark on the field of the die (outside part of the die, leaning a raised and incuse line raised on the coin in the field. The die is also VLDS. (Very-Late-Die-State)

Yep, now that you mention it Coop, I can see that happening. I knew it was different, but the Die Dent didn't occur to me. Thanks to all, very much appreciated.
