I just started collecting coins and so far know absolutely nothing compared to most everyone on this site. Any bit of help would be much appreciated. I am all for learning more. Also curious if anyone has seen this before on a coin. Thanks guys
looks like the coin took a hit from a flat-head screw driver along his nose. There appears to be a depression at the tip, and it split off part of the nose higher up.
I don't see any evidence on the reverse. The mark on the nose may have been from an over polishing altering the nose. (looks like they removed the rest of a clash)
