This coin turned up at a very reputable coin shop I frequent.

Upon examining it, I was absolutely appalled. I'm not sure how evident it will be from the photos, but while it has mint luster in the fields, there were a lot of nicks to the surfaces and really signiicant wear to the high points of the devices. Specifically, the horse's hooves were almost entirely smoothed out, and the snake's body where it crosses the eagle's breast very obvioualy missing material from having been abraded. My feeling is that this is certainly one of the most egregiously overgraded coins I've ever seen in an NGC holder. I'm hard pressed to see, at least from a technical standpoint, how it can possibly be better than XF. Of course, it's been priced as the MS63 the slab purports it to be.

Surely agree that it's not an MS63 coin. AU at best from what I can see on my screen. Someone really had an off day at NGC if you ask me.
