Hey guys, great forum you have here. I bought a lot of coins a few months ago.. Most 1 oz, Kangaroos, AGE's (gold and platinum) and about 30 1 oz platinum maple leafs..All except the Kangaroos come in plastic sleeves, the Kangaroos already come in hard coin holders as I'm sure all of you know, not flip tops.... .. I store them in my safety deposit box. My question is, if I take them out of the APMEX/Provident flip top sleeves, and place them in Air-Tite containers, should I keep the flip top sleeves which have numbers on the back...?
Thanks guys, Stewart

I don't think so.
How could you prove that a particular coin came out of a particular holder.

At most keep the holders for your personal records.

Best keep such coins in what they came in. However, you may want to check out the Whitman Publishing web site for more suggestions.

Make sure you have those in freezer-type ziplock bags with a sacrificial, red penny and a desiccant pack.

I agree with the suggestions: keep them in the holders provided to you. That's the best and safest I can think of.

On this one I disagree.

Clear coin flips are not the best for long term storage.

Air-tites would be better.

If and when you decide to sell the coins, they will test
them to make sure they are authentic, no matter what holder
they are in.

If you picked up the original OGP tubes, those would be good,
maybe not as good as air-tites.

Any of these options would still benefit being in the ziplock
bags.

I think I'll need a gallon size Ziplock for my red penny...
