Ok coin has the die crack on the Queen, but there is somthing in the field that I can't quite figure out what it is... it is not a scratch.. no metal pushed out of the way... you guys should be able to spot it.   Edited by Nikon

this is tough, I think it could be a strike through but I can't see it going through the bust at all..it could be a scrape too but I don't see any damage on the bust either..this is a tough one.

Well, if it helps any it is indented, like a scrape, but it does not come into contact with the best behind at the mouth it just barely touches the lips. But the scrape looks like it was on the die.. ie there is no metal ridge on either side...

a strike through would be indented too, the problem is your coin was cleaned/polished which would have smoothed much or all of the minor pushed up metal.

Hrm, it has pretty even blue tone, that does not show up in the photo of course. the other "bag hits" on it show very clearly the pushed up metal. and have the same hue to them as the feild error/damage... something.. something...

this is a tough one for me, I really can't make up my mind. the texture looks promising and reminds me of other similar looking pieces which were strike through errors, but hmm I'm not sure. you should wait for more people to comment but if the majority is on the fence as I am, perhaps it is a good idea if you can afford the fairly low cost, to see what CCCS says about it. perhaps an email to them would be a good idea? http://www.canadiancoincertificatio...hp?c=17&lg=1Feel free to call me Will.

I think just the difference in toning would leave me to believe that this is PMD. |

Most of the difference in the toning shown in the photo is light reflections as an artifact of the photo... seen through a loop the toning is similar to whats around it.

Nikon when I look at your coin on the queens neckle. is that a die clash of the wing from the goose. coming through on her neckle. the curl on the surface of your coinon the bust. I wonder if that might have been a piece of slag. that may have dropped on to the die face before pressing. but check your coin to see if that is a die clash. I see it on the queens neckle.

nikon you take very good photos. if you want to take even better photos. come on to the coin photography group. it is part of the forum. they helper myself a lot with taking images. the coin I am putting up has 4 levels of strikes. so when you check coins there is a lot to look for. if you get a chance come and see.   |

the last image you put up there appears to be a wing on the queens neck. if the wing is there. that would meed you have a die clash as well. I see it very clearly. so it got to be there. nice coin
