Hi All-

I am a longtime member of the "sister stamp forum" and have started to collect coins. I came across these 4 Presidential dollar coins and was hoping someone could enlighten me on the verbiage on what they are. Since I scanned these, they look much darker than they normally are.

They are very shiny like a proof with an orange-ish layering around the profile.

Interesting coins. At first it looked like the reverse proof coins, but on those the lettering is not matte finish. Maybe one of those "special" coins you can buy from a late night television show. Let us wait for one of the experts to help out.

late night QVC shopping is what comes to mind

Altered after they left the mint to make them resemble rev proofs. (coins are polished, portraits are masked off and the rest of the coin sandblasted.)
