The photo really doesn't show it, but this coin has that hook-shaped die break that leads from the MM to the bottom of the 9 in the date, similar to 1952D-1MM-021, but the MM is different to me. Anyone's thoughts?
Appears to be a normal mintmark to me. Don't use markers to find die varieties, use them to identify one you have already found. You're placing the cart before the horse here.
