I suspect damage. Doesn't doubling usually show on more than just one portion of one device?

If this were hub doubling I would expect the other devices to also be affected. They are not. It is from a normal die that took a well placed hit on the device.

If this were a doubled die I would expect to see the other devices altered something like this, but probably a bit different. Just a simulation to grasp the concept.

Photoshop and two images. I placed one over the second image and erased out the area to add on and erased full area of the '9' to let it show as normal.
