The reverse looks blurry due to a smudge on the case. What would you grade it?

I think this one looks better than the grade, but perhaps that blemish between the "19" and "55" in the date is what took it down. I'm not as knowledgeable as most here, so I'd love to hear opinions. Thanks.

I'm not concerned about the blemish between the date , I'm more concerned about that scratch through his head and into right field . Is it on the coin or holder . also does anybody think it might be a die crack ?
Grade is hold until obverse issue is solved .

Upon further inspection, the blemish between the date is actually toning, so you're right about that. Not much of a concern. The scratch/die crack is another issue. It's so hard to tell. I initially thought it was on the case, but it looks like it could be on the coin. If so, it would certainly explain why it didn't grade higher.

Boy, you guys have better eyes than I do. These pics are just too small for me to judge from.

I know, Coinfrog. It's difficult with the pictures. I wish I could get some straight-on shots, too, but slabbed pieces like this are so difficult to photograph due to reflection, etc. I need some better equipment.

I am not sure if the pictures are making the coin look better ... Or worse.

I could guess anywhere from AU ...to MS details ... To MS 66

This one actually graded MS-65. I thought it was deserving of a 66, but perhaps the die crack along the top of the head kept it from going that high. The reverse looks much better than the pics. As I mentioned, a smudge on the case is blurring certain parts of it. Anyway, I appreciate the input.

Monday morning quarter-backing's always fun since I was going to go out on a limb and say 65 only with the qualifier that it had no hidden dings anywhere.

I guessed right.
