When I started, I used a cloth shopping bag to carry my gear. Then a 5 gallon bucket, with my pinpointer, digger, ground cloth, finds bag, and all my trash. Used the bucket to help me get up from the ground, because of hip replacement, and a knee repair on the opposite side. Well I've changed my gear toting equipment. I now use a empty cat litter container, and have mounted the belt holder for my Garrett pinpointer on the rim. Also use a piece of copper wire I detected, made a loop to hold my digger in an up right position for easy access, same as the pinpointer. I then cut the top of a bleach jug off and set it inside for all my trash, and I get a lot of trash. Soon I will make a mount for my find bag and coin tube for all my keepers. The cat litter container is lighter than the 5 gallon bucket and holds everything I currently need. Webekin
Here are a few pictures. The black bag has my credit card size magnifying glass for those times when I want to know the date on a dirty coin. The Mentos candy container is where I store my fresh finds. The Pin-pointer and digging tool are upright and handy. The trash container is easier to fill with the handle removed. The 12" forceps, I use to pickup trash, on top of the ground. I don't bend like I did 40 years ago.
Had trouble posting photos, had to send them to myself by email save to desktop them upload to here.
I appreciate the inventiveness of people especially when overcoming a problem. A triumph of the human spirit!
I've seen some interesting contraptions over the years from beachcombers. I'll bet there are a few ideas floating out there on the web that might benefit the treasure hunters here!
I carry as little as possible when detecting, because usually I'm on private property. I know some of my buds carry 2' short shovels. I carry a Lesche digger, pinpointer, and pouch, on a belt.
I love the Tidy cat buckets tho.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72
