KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 03/03/2008 02:58 am Judging by only the photo, I would say it's had some kind of environmental exposure, and possible a gentle cleaning to restore the surface. Unless it's just the photo, it looks a bit darker than I'd expect for a 1909. A scope is the only way to really tell re cleaning. Going by Rick Snow's grading guide, I'd place it at least XF40, but since I can't totally make out detail on the ribbon and separation between the lower strands of hair, it might easily grade higher but I'm unsure. At least is hasnt been chemically cleaned (aka "damaged"). It's a nice coin worth between 10 and 20 dollars, depending on who's buying it. Report this Post to the Staff
