I have this sent to me from a person in Europe. At this time the only picture is of this side. I have seen 1898 San Marino 5 Lire fakes before so I thought would post here and if anybody sees the signs of a fake please let me know.

I think it's a fake coin. The edge is totally wrong.

The edge is wrong, I believe it should be thicker. Also, the text should read Speranza, not SpFran7a.

How much does this coin weigh? It should be 25 grams.

Difficult to tell from a single photo with washed out fields.

However, I am very concerned that the coin is a numismatic forgery.

Edge photos, the reverse, the weight and specific gravity could all provide clues.

Not likely to have 25gr for this coin as it is not made with silver. I had seen an Italian seller to sell such coins on ebay and they were attributed to "Copy" in its description.
