1973-D Kennedy Large And Small Mint Marks?

magusxxx Valued Member United States 306 Posts	Posted 03/03/2008 11:55 am I'm not going to post a picture because if the answer is yes then it's no big deal. I was looking through some halves I got at the bank. And I noticed that two of them had mint marks in slightly different locations than the rest. Upon looking at them closer I saw that they were not only in different places but also looked like they were a different size. Is this something common which is just not mentioned in the Red Book (yet)? Report this Post to the Staff

Position of mintmarks varies from die to die, this part is normal...but different size mintmarks would be something different entirely. Report this Post to the Staff

I tried to find a large mint mark that was in about the same place as the small one. But now, of course, that I look at it this way I'm thinking the mint mark was eroded away, or full of junk, or playful martians, etc., etc... Report this Post to the Staff
