I would have it check it first with a magnet to see if it sticks to it. IF so it is a plated coin.
Second, look at the bottom of the 3 in the date. The three has a very distinct shape. Sometimes they alter an 1948 and make it look like a 3. So if the correct shape for the 3 isn't there or a space between the 4-3, the coin was altered.
The 3 in 1943 looks normal from what I can see. Test it with a magnet and if it doesn't stick, send it off to get graded by PCGS or NGC or ANACS. (I recommend PCGS)
