The discontinued Stained Glass Series is mentioned by others from time to time (and sometimes by me). It was announced to have been a series of 5, only the first 2 were issued - Casa Loma, Toronto and Craigdarrock, Victoria, then nothing more. Some background -- In 2014 the series received a ho hum: https://goccf.com/t/177602Of the 7500 mintage, quite poor sales according to RCMs 2014 annual report. How many might have sold in 2015, unknown. However the Shopping Channel advertised it as a two-coin set https://www.theshoppiNGChannel.com/...0,E:11945368The unfinished series may have been commissioned? Regardless, the two still hold a certain appeal and as typical, sell for 1/2 to 3/4 of their original issue price. Possibly collectors are interested in the mystique of anomaly series? In my opinion the historical art theme has good merit but perhaps the 2014 timing was not right? So I'm curious, are there any other pre-announced series that were to have consisted of a specific number, that later fell on the cutting room floor? Or does the Stained Glass series presently hold the sole distinction?

There are series, that never announced by RCM as "series" , just annually we had a new coin. So RCM could stop it any moment without saying a word. Great example: 2008-2012 Maple Crystall Drop. Resurrected in 2016, or it just one coin came? Snowflakes - are they still continue? What about 25c CuNi Bird series? And the series like: **First nations Art of Hunting **Untamed Canada RCM didn't announced from the beginning the amount of coins in series. Just on 4-th and 3-rd coins respectively, mint told "the last in series"

Thanks Silveriod. I hadn't realized there were several other unknowns. The opposite would be a successful series that concluded such as the 1oz Murano glass, immediately followed by another "small creatures" series that in essence is an extension. I neglected to copy the source of the 5 coin not-to-be Stained Glass series. It was advertised with the 1st coin. 2014 Craigdarrock - Special features: Your coin is the first in a new 5-coin series featuring eye-catching reproductions of Canada's stained glass masterpieces! Each pocket of your coin has been hand-filled to recreate the look of the original stained glass window. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/1-oz.....V66PUnjOerUThe unveiling of the Casa Loma, media presence, the Finance Minster, CEO of RCM amd others.....all that. http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/new-co...ma-1.1946603

I think the Forests of Canada series was cut back from 6 coins, to 4 coins. Here's a link to the revised "set": http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/1-oz....V67Yu_krJpgEdit: I was incorrect... was originally an 8 coin set: Carolinian Tulip-tree - Ships March 2015 Coast Shore Pine - Ships May 2015 Columbian Yew Tree - Ships July 2015 Boreal Balsam Poplar - Ships September 2015 Coin #5 TBA - Ships May 2016 Coin #6 TBA - Ships July 2016 Coin #7 TBA - Ships September 2016 Coin #8 TBA - Ships November 2016

There are two series that I think got cut short back in about 2005/6. If you would believe that there are only two Architectural Treasures in all of Canada (CN Tower and Calgary Saddledome) and only two Light Houses (Sambro Island and Toronto Island) of any importance. These two series could have gone into the 10's of issues, but both ended at two only.

Oh my goodness, it's seems that series are begun a little like throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. The Architectural Treasures Series (2006), there was a 3rd one, Notre Dame Bassilica but regardless I always wondered why so few were featured. http://www.citadelcoins.ca/naturala...wonders.htmlThanks very much for the additions to the list. I'm thinking a collection of all unfinished series is not to become my future goal. lol!

With the tons of NCLT issues and series each quarter, I think the Mint can't even keep track themselves what they promised.

The Forests of Canada series were to have 8 coins and not 6. They cut back to 4 with a collector case. I guess it did not do too well. I will have to look up how many they actually issued of each coin.

And do you remember the annual series of the F12 / F15 subscriptions? Where people subscribed to the set of the 12 or 15 (depends on year) BU bullion coins, each of them priced CAD 98. How sounds the idea to buy ASE for CAD 98? And Britannia and even some of .925 silver. So, I do not remember this set continues after 2014. The major change from then: Foreign mints (and the RCM as well) drastically increased the production of NCLT and bullion, the foreign bullion coins became more easy to get....and all the previous successful Mint's idea to distribute exclusive bullion dead.
