I just started collecting coins a few days ago (I know, I'm so new I'm still in the (wrapper). My only real experience with coins concerns my fathers collection I inherited. I wasn't too interested so I gave it to my wife. As she was going through it the other day, the collector side of me saw the potential for another collection. To start I am just going to collect all the mint and proof sets that I can afford...and go from there. Of course I don't know what I'm doing, so I'm just going to look for nice unmolested coins.

I'm sure you will enjoy your fathers collection more now that you will be looking at it from a collectors perspective! Enjoy

Glad to have you as a member. My favorite coins are the ones I got from my great grandma and they are some of the worst condition coins I own

Thanks for all the welcomes. My dads collection was pretty standard. He only seemed to collect silver and gold. Some proof sets, Olympic sets from 1984 and the Canadian 1976 Olympic Series. Some Silver Eagles.
