But of course. If I am lucky to get them, I will keep them in the OGP. Anyone considering sending them in?

You had to order them from the mint, just now, and they are already sold out. Then you send them to NGC for the slab.

Good choice. I should add, as a followup to my first post, that I was lucky enough to get my two (one from each mint).

Quote: When was this made public? The medals appeared on the Mint's 2016 Product Schedule that was released in December 2015; their actual release date was listed as TBD. The actual on sale date was announced within the last month. The medals have been discussed here on CCF for the past few months. Sorry you didn't get a chance to order.

That's funny, I see it all over the place now. Fog of life I guess.
Saves me money for the next one.

Being new to coin collecting, I'm curious as to what are some of the reasons you'd decide to send, or not send, in a coin to be graded?

I will be the lonely one here that does submit stuff for grading. I buy enough of an item to eventually sell most of them and have found that I definitely get better prices for graded items than those in OGP...and they are easier to store and display.
Obviously not all items are appropriate to be graded but high interest ones (like this) definitely will be. I will add that there have been no appropriate issues sent by me for around a year or so,
I agree that most times I cannot tell a 69 from a 70 but I CAN tell what is obviously NOT a 70. Those will be kept in OGP. Those 70's will always make up for the 69's that may arrive.
