So I hope you can indulge me. I have made a series of shots comparing all my lenses. I liked Austrokiwi's use of the reverse of the Lincoln Memorial cent for 100% crops so I copied him.
The lenses
Beslar 75mm 1:3.5---BESLAR75
Fujimoto E-Lucky Anastigmat 75mm 1:3.5---ELUCKY75
Nikon El-Nikkor 75mm 1:4---ElNikkor75
Omega El-Omegar 75mm 1:3.5---ElOmegar75
Rodenstock Omegaron 75mm 1:4.5---RodOmegron75
Rodenstock El-Omegar 50mm 1:3.5---ElOmegar50
Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 105mm 1:4.5---SK105
Will Wetzlar Macro-Doryt 75mm 1:4.5---Wetzlar75
I have three pics of each:
1)whole cent reverse cropped square.
2)100% crop of cent
3)100% crop of half dollar

I could not fit the entire coin view using the 50mm lens

So surprisingly there is not that much difference between these lenses. I do think the winner, at least in the silver star crops, is the ELucky75 lens. I have been using the ElOmegar75 everyday for about a year but I'm going to switch now. I use the 50mm lens for close up work, and the 105mm for extra large coins and medals. To shoot the 105 the front of the lens is over 20 inches from the target, this is the limit of my scope/stand.

It's interesting how much variation there is between these lenses, and how poor the 75mm EL Nikkor really is.

Whenever I tried to compare lenses, I couldn't see much difference just letting the sensor record the image -- I had to resort to capturing magnified images using a 2nd lens (teleconverter or microscope objective). Almost all lenses that I tested out-resolved the sensor pixels, so it was hard see much difference with real coin pics.

What were the aperture settings for the lenses?

I made a little animated gif with all of them. My ordering is:

ELucky
Omegaron
EL Nikkor
Wetzlar
ElOmegar
Beslar
SK105

I left out the 50mm since it was harder to get to fit with the animation and may not be fair anyway.
