From back in the day of nickel slots? What's the point of a 5 cent token?

Sure, considering the rate of inflation, a dime will be pretty much worthless someday, too.

Of course, mine have sentimental value. They represent the first time I had ever been to a casino and I was there with my late grandfather.

Makes sense from the casino owners point of view. Tokens are cheaper than using real coins. Token machines are usually played for 5 tokens or more per play. Most important of all players rarely give up their losing ways until all their tokens have been lost.

The token probably has a tiny value as scrap metal, the casino not so much: http://www.usnews.com/news/politics...cal-of-trump

Mine will always have sentimental value. When I look at them I can remember my grandfather and imagine all of the colourful metaphors he would use.
