Hi everyone, I just today picked up a rather nice ANACS MS70 2012 Britannia. Although I see that these only had a mintage of 100,000, I am unfamiliar with how popular these are with collectors. Are they very popular in Britain? I'm just curious since they are quite hard to find in the states.

First of all, that is one beauty of a coin.

I'm not sure if having an ANACS slab adds a lot of value, but here in Europe all Britannia coins sell with a proper premium - and it usually increases over time.

UltraRant- Thanks for the input. And thanks for the complement! I'm really glad to hear that Britannia's sell for a good premium.

However, I am concerned with one thing. The ANACS verification number does not come up as valid on the ANACS certification verification website. I looked on ebay, and I found many other 2012 ANACS MS70 -slabbed Britannias. And none of those came up as having valid numbers on the ANACS certification verification website.

Are these heavily counterfeited and put in counterfeit ANACS slabs?

Hmmmmm not really sure about these selling for premiums, perhaps to people who are not really into buying coins, but buy the odd bit of bullion. Whether in a slab or not British buyers don't really go for slabbed coins nor pay a huge premium for the slab number. These you can find for £25 or so, just check ebay 112152596103
