I searched and revisited a few topics in CCF on 3 Cent Pieces, Proof vs Business Strike. I think this is a circulated Proof, but I am not positive. I am looking for help from the experts, and also a grade. Thanks for any help! RK

Looks high AU to me, don't think UNC. Doesn't look like a proof though.

AU58. nice piece. on these I like to see 3 fully struck columns on the reverse and you have that.

cool...I think the business strike is rarer than the proof with only 4,000 minted?

Business strike. Wow, what a rare and desirable piece.

CCF members were right on the money with this one! I was disappointed on the details grade. I looked up some PCGS slabs from a prominent dealer and they were far worse and in non details grade slabs. oh well, here is the results.

Ouch, that details is harsh, but awesome find on it being a buisness strike.

Corroded?
That is certainly some harsh grading. It doesn't make much sense to leave in that holder except for protection.

Why was it graded as corrosion? I don't see it as corroded. Did you ask Anacs?

Quote: Why was it graded as corrosion? I don't see it as corroded. Did you ask Anacs? It has a few black spots, which are not unusual for a coin in this grade, but I'd hardly called it "corroded."
