8 BIE Lincoln Cents for $1.25... Kind of a novelty pickup
1856-A 5 Centimes France VF
1900 3 Pence Great Britain F
1912 One Penny Great Britain G
1927 Half Penny Great Britain F
1928 Sho Tibet VG
1936 50 Centimes France VF
1942 1 Franc France VF
1943 3 Pence South Africa AU-58ish
1953 50 Para Yugoslavia UNC
1953 1 Dinar Yugoslavia UNC
1953 2 Dinara Yugoslavia UNC
All of these were $5 total.
More additions to my growing dark side collection!

Anyway, what is it with Americans calling 'non-American' coins the 'Dark Side'? jbuck also called it such in a different topic. I know it's great to be here, though. We have cookies.

Because when it comes to non-US coins, most US collectors are "In the Dark".

The term originated on the PCGS forums many years ago.

Most Americans know less about foreign coins than they know about the dark side of the moon.

(Which there is not, there is just a side we never see from Earth, but I assure you light does fall upon it as often as the side we see.)

It could make such a great Star Wars or Pink Floyd reference... but no...

Anyway, I'm not really surprised, as it seems to fit with how most Americans I know experience the world. Thanks for the info.
