Hello I found this today in a old Loomis roll my banker found for me. Would this be a die clash error? The multiple clashes on the front mirror the spot the damage is in the back. Any value in this coin? Ty for your time.

That's not a die clash, it's damage. Damage will take away from the value of a coin, never add value. That is a pretty common date and well circulated even without the damage.
Still a cool find!

As mentionined before this is damage. But this and your morgan should not be in this forum as they are not modern coins. Please post them in the classic forum

On clashes, they follow the outline of the bust/reverse that only affects the fields.

Note how only the fields are affected? That is the areas for this coin that would be affected by a clash.

Another type of useless doubling on the Indian Heads is called Longacre doubling:

This is on the hub and is tranferred to the dies. (not doubled die though)

But on your coin the damage is on the tops of the bust. The bust design is deeper into the die and would never be affected by a die clash. Only the outside lines of the bust outline. If the tops of the devices and building or bust show an incuse mark, it is just coin damage. Hope this answers your question.

Jus stick around this forum you will learn all you need to not just by posting pics but following other threads as well...anything you don't find you can enter into the search field on left and you'll find a plethora of information. Also there is a contest/game/prize forum on ccf but you may need a certain amount of posts before you can enter it but I'm not sure on the number? Good luck!
