Need some help here. New to the fourm sorry if this post is in the wront spot.... I got this coin a few days ago directly from the Royal Canadain Mint. It came from the 2016 50 cent special wrap roll... its only been moved the wrapper into a sealed slip while wearing gloves. You can clearly see the big errors on this coin. Can ANYONE help me to figure out what this type of error is called and how to go about getting it certified apprased ect. I'm in Kingston Ontario Canada... ANY ideas as to what it may be worth? Many many thanks...

This should really have its own thread. Maybe a Mod can move it. Agree with john 100. Appears to have been Struck Through Grease. Thats what causes the "missing parts". Don't know what you mean by remelting, these are made of Nickel Plated Steel. Certainly not worth getting certified.

As john100 said. Around $10.00 if you can find a buyer. Struck Through Grease is not that uncommon of an error.

It is Struck Through Grease for sure. Some grease was on the die when it was struck. leaving that large imprint on the coin. And welcome to the community, from a fellow kingstonian!

It is a pretty nice example of a Struck Through Grease error. I like it. Nice coin even though not much value.
