Hello A theoretical coin in the Krause has a weight of 26.80 gr and a diameter of 39mm. The same type of coin that I would like to buy has a weight of 27gr and a diameter of 39.3 mm. According to your experience, do you think that the coin is nevertheless in the permissible tolerances of a genuine coin? Or is too far from them? ( especially the diameter). Thanks for your answers
Kaji, others will weigh in on this, but I think that it depends. Modern minting equipment should be able to be more accurate coins than those values, but maybe not so for a coin minted in the 1600s (and listed in Krause's 17th Century Coins).
