As I mentioned in my earlier post, I started working in a local coin shop Tuseday of this week. It was easy to tell silver was going up , the shop opens at 10 and there were 8 customers (all sellers) inside when I walked in at 10:00. It was busy all day, they were handing out numbers until 5:30 - it closes at 6. The verdict when I got there today was that it was the most they ever bought in one day- a shade over 200,000 . That's alot of silver, and gold.
When I got there they had me sorting the silver 50/25/10 , pulling barbers and better walkers, some mercs. I was pulling 42's in the mercs for later looks but he said they don't usually bother....Hmmmmm

. Goes faster though when you are looking for XF or better...there are not many. I did pull a 1945-s Merc. micro S. I guess there's no wonder why cherry picking those bags was easy for me. I stayed away from dimes because they are so darn small...but I guess I might try them soon, I got a good feeling about that 42/1 waiting for me .
That was a small box, so after about an hour he got this ungodly heavy bag of Buffaloes out of the vault and that was my job the rest of the day. I got through about 1/3 of the bag , sorting the no dates, the partial dates and the full dates. Found a few no date 13-D type 1's and a couple dozen bargain bin coins- partial date teens and a couple with mint marks.
In between doing this stuff buyers do come here and there. One guy buys alot of Morgans from the circ bin, I love this guy- he gave me the Donkey Tail a while back . He sat next to me and did his thing while I did mine and basically looked at the Morgans for both of us since I couldn't. I got a 21 (like I don't have enough yet) that has some of the nicest toning I have seen IMHO.
Bored Yet ? Not me !

Today I started off with the Buffaloes, but he had something else he wanted me to do instead :War Nickels. I thought oh boy..what a thrill....dirty ,nasty, worn out... ugh . Well.... they are all that ! And more ! I was told to look for 1943/2 -P, 1943
DDO (doubled eye) , and 1945-P
DDR. Now usually I don't expect to find any DD's - unless I am looking at Kennedy's, but this was surprising and kept me on my toes. They were in an ammo box ( has alot of those boxes I guess) and it was full, so I got about half done . I had looked at a couple hundred and found a couple I thought might be 43/2, so I asked if he had pics of any of them, he gets the
Cherry Pickers Guide for me. While he does this I pull a coin and look...OH, that's what it looks like

, I had pulled one before he even got there with the book. Anyway, after spotting these they get easy. After probably 2000 nickels, I had found:
1943/2 -P (2)
1943-P
DDR (2)
1 Clipped Planchet
6 Nice lamination errors
1 Lamination that was peeled and still attached, that was pretty cool if you like that sort of thing
3 other 1942-P
DDO's, not dramatic, but they are listed. I was happy to catch those , they are difficult to spot.
Both days were long, but they went fast. When you are looking for things, there is nothing better than finding them ! I had fun but my neck hurts . I stopped at 7:30 tonight so I could look through the XF-AU Morgan box before the masses get to it tomorrow

Two Top 100 coins in there (marked 18.00 on the box...we'll see ). I have an envelope that is filling up with coins . Life Is Good.
I 'll post on this again at the end of the week if there is any interest , and if there isn't...I will anyway

I will try and get some pics of the guys at the shop and the coins of course and post them before this ordeal is done.
You all have a Great day tomorrow, I know I will !
