I am an ExactChange casualty. I paid the $80 for this software and started using it. I soon found it is very thin on features. I simply wanted to generate a report of all coins in my collection with pictures, which is such an obvious report it must exist, but I can't find it. So I tried to sign up for their support forum. I signed up with my gmail address. But it said I was banned from using their forum because I use gmail. So I tried my work email but you don't get a second change, once you try with gmail it won't let you register, period. So I write them an email. They asked for my username so I told them I used the gmail address I'm writing from and I also used my work email which I gave. I also asked my question about reports.

I get a response from some "Wild Man" and he asks for my username so he can fix it and he then gives me a wrong answer to my question about reports.

So I write back and I reitterate my username is my gmail address and I clarify that his answer to my question about reports is wrong and to please give me the right answer.

Then I get no response. A few days later I write back saying I'm disgrunted for being ignored, and I'm now using CoinManage which is 1000 times better than ExactChange and half the price.

Wild Man writes back saying he ignored me because I didn't give him my username. I wrote back reminding him that I gave it to him TWICE and furthermore he didn't need my username to answer my question about reports. The mature response would be for him to apologize and make it right. Instead back to being ignored. In his last message he told me that their customer service is second to none. I guess he meant there's nobody worse.

Based on this experience I STRONGLY recommend do not use this software, which looks and feels extremely amateurish. CoinManage is fantastic in comparison and half the price.

On my "to do" list is researching some kind of software to help me manage my collection. Thank you for the information so I know to stay clear of that one for sure. I will check out CoinManage.

How do you know the answer to your question is wrong?

I have had extremely good fortune with ExactChange software and with the couple of technical interactions I had with the developer, including timely response and quick fix regarding use of a gmail email address. I have been extremely pleased with the customer service. I highly recommend this software. I guess diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.

CoinManage may be better--it appears to be better for some folks. I am not familiar with that program.

I also like ExactChange, and I have had positive experiences communicating with the owner.

WildMan is just his nickname and the name of his company. I agree it would be better if he used his real name in correspondence.

The "no Gmail" rule is a hassle, I agree. Apparently he has had a (perceived) problem with spam using gmail addresses. The forum responses are sometimes slow, and some questions do not receive an answer.

So, it's not perfect, but overall I've been satisfied.

You can call ExactChange for support at (707) 987-4499 from 1600 - 0000 UTC (0900 - 1700 PDT), Monday - Friday.

I use Numista's online service for this, then I export it to Excel and insert photos. It is easy, convenient, and best of all it is free.

I had CoinManage. Good program, but no support. Never got a reply with a question.
