The obverse of the coin has a die crack starting from the rim between the 1 9. It goes through the bottom of the neck and out the other side a little bit. The coin also has a rotation error. The reverse Eagle head points NW instead of S (when the obverse Kennedy portrait is in proper orientation and you flip the coin left or right NOT up or down). I would appreciate help in determining if it is clockwise or counter clockwise rotation. Also the approximate degrees would be helpful ( I do not have a protractor). Thank you for your help and feedback.

I see the die crack, and the rotated die! Nice coin! Maybe get some better pics and email JC about getting it listed

Thanks CoinCents. :) I know that is over 90 degrees rotated based on a right or left flip bc 1/4 turn would have the Eagle's head pointing West. I just dont know how direction is determined.

See the cracks starting point between the 1 & 9, but have a hard time following after it intersects with the bust. Quote: The coin also has a rotation error. Also need to verify the orientation of the coin flip. Left to right and vice versa sounds like a medal orientation. End over end sounds more like the coin orientation we'd expect to see and judge by on US coins. Thanks, Doug.

Thank you Dustin. You are talking about the die crack for contacting JC right? Hey Doug. The die crack is on the extreme bottom edge of the neck before the darker base of the neck. Also if I flip the coin end over end meaning up or down, the Eagle's head points SE. Normally it should point N. I believe it is rotated over 90 degrees clockwise. Here is a picture of the coin flipped US coin end over end style. Thanks.

Oh wow that's even better than I thought (was thinking near 110 degrees just random guessing). Thank you Doug for the degree measurement.

It runs right along the highest ridge of the truncation of the bust, right there along the edge where it goes from light to shadow.

Thanks John. I put the coin in a flip.
Yes Conder that is the path the die crack took. Right along that light and shadow edge. Thanks for the proper term of the neck area.

That flip is not a soft one that smells like shower curtains is it? PVC damage ahead if it is. You have to have the hard flips to prevent that issue.

It is a flip that is soft but doesn't smell. The package says non plasticized flips for coins. Does this mean it is PVC free? Thanks for the heads up. They may be made out of mylar not sure.

Thank God they are PVC free. They are actually hard flips when I checked out the product. They just feel soft I guess.
