Just wondering if anyone else read the email from Trajan Media announcing the release of two new presentation cases specifically designed to house the Canadian $50 for $50 and $100 for $100 FV coins.

I find it interesting that in light of the relatively few number in each of the series that these are being marketed to collectors. The case holding the 1/2 ounce silver coins has room for 24 while the one for the 1 ounce coins has room for 20 pieces.

Having met some of their friendly and knowledgeable sales staff at a few of the major coin shows in the past few years, I'm sure that they would have done their homework before investing time and money into a new product.

Perhaps this is another indicator that the face value series, particularly in the higher denominations will carry on for quite awhile. If that ends up not being the case (pun intended) they may end up as fancy storage boxes for other 34 and 40mm encapsulated coins.

Either way, I doubt they will generate the same excitement $20 for $20 or SML cases have, but thought it would be an intriguing discussion topic none the less.

Any thoughts?

I have a few of the Lighthouse wooden slab presentation cases and they are a good quality item albeit somewhat expensive.

If we think the sane thing, I use such case for UNC 2€ CC's. It has three trays, each for 35 coin in capsules. I'm very satisfied with the product.

Most Lighthouse products are somewhat expensive, but the quality is always there. I'm a big fan.
