I will (eventually,after bugging all of you to death, lol) be able to identify errors! So I have what I think is a die crack across Lincoln's face and a small Cud. (Or Retained Cud or die gouge someone please correct me if I'm wrong) And there are 1 or 2 trail lines by the word LIBERTY. Report this Post to the Staff

The best way to learn is from the experts here. I also learn by trying to help others like you and see if I am getting the correct diagnosis once the experts chime in,. What I see is possibly a plating issue not a crack. The mark by the date I believe to a Die dent. We will see what the others say on your coin. Did you check the reverse to see if this one is a WAM? LOL Yes I've checked the reverse for the WAM. I've only found one so far and that was a 1998. I've only been doing this a few months, hopefully I'll eventually find the other one's and have the whole set. You know I actually thought maybe a plating error but I didn't/don't know exactly what to look for with one like this. Report this Post to the Staff

The die was dropped onto another die denting that part of the edge. I've seen them a few images searching: They are neat to find. Not real valuable though. Report this Post to the Staff
