Hello all,

Glad there is a community that's vibrant for those who aren't to familiar with coins. I hope someone could be of help identifying a coin my girlfriend purchased 2 years ago down in Southern Florida. She says its a Spanish Sunken coin? Upon purchase she wasn't very revealing on how much she paid for it but now I am aware she paid over a thousand for it. If you ask me that's way too much but she wanted it and thinks its pretty cool. But I was curious if someone could enlighten us on if its real and what it really could be worth? Any help is greatly appreciated. Here are a few pictures under the flash of my smartphone. Let me know if better ones are needed. Thanks all

Hi DarryleMjr, Take a look at the images at http://www.newworldtreasures.com/gold-cobs.htm. Rotate your first picture 90 degrees to put the crown at the top. I'm not an expert on these coins, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Hey thanks for the response guys. John1, yes this is what we believe one of the Mel Fisher treasure finds. Roger, the link you provided for some reason is not working? But upon further research by the misses she found that's its a coin from Mexico City? We wanted to find the monetary value of it but we didn't know what it could be. I do know gold is somewhat high at the moment.

The problem with the link is that the trailing period got rolled up into it. Sorry. This one should work... http://www.newworldtreasures.com/gold-cobs.htm
