Could you tell me what is the countermark F applied on a Hong Kong 10 cents 1956? Is it a mint countermark?
What does it mean?

It is near impossible to say. It could be for Fred, or just about anything else. Single letters or numbers are seldom identified.

@kaji, it was definitely not applied at the mint. As Tryna pointed out, beyond that, it is pretty hard to say why it was defaced like this.

That's just what I wanted to know ! Is it an original mint countermark or not. And therefore, if yes, what is the reason for that and has it any numismatic vlue.
I didn't found it in my catalogue.
if I don't receive other opinions, I will agree with you that it is not placed by a mint.
