Looks like a VAM-10 stage of some kind, but ? Can find several VAMs that match some of these but not all. Obverse: - Date position is far and slightly slanted - Profile is doubled from chin up to forehead and top of cap lightly doubled - Bottom of ear is lightly doubled - Thin die crack almost circles obverse, including through date and bust - Diagonally slanted die gouge in hair below ear - Clash noted at lips, cap/neck junction, and below chin Reverse: - Heavy single clash with single clash mark at right wreath and up towards N GO on right wing, light clash at top of left wreath - MM position is high and centered - Die crack through tops of almost all reverse legend except not through wings - Bow might be slightly doubled to the bottom inside - Reverse die rotated about 5-10 degrees Thoughts appreciated. Could be, Cascade. Under 10x lens on the scope, the bottom inside loops of the 1st 8 do appear slightly doubled. But the V23 plate coin doesn't show any signs of clash or cracking, and no mention of rotation, and no clashed late die state is listed. But it is definitely a III.2 obverse (leaf under R is bang on) and C.3 rev (short left serif of first A, cut bottom left feather) -- a match for V23
So I suppose this could be hypothetically a MDS or LDS of V23...

All those PUPs you mention are inconsequential to the VAM really.

Slanted date, normal position, high O. VAM-10 I think.

Defiantly not v10. Die cracks are like fingerprints and they don't match. Obvious example... Compare the crack on this coin going from O to D in dollar. V10 has the crack going from the O down to the denticles

Looks closer to a die state of 10 than 23 at this point, but both VAMs share the same hub types obv/rev.
I might crack it and send it to VSS or ANACS

There is a '91-O guy that pops in every once in a while. Maybe he will see your thread and reply. If not, VSS is a great option, or even just a post over at the VAM site: http://www.vamworld.com/

Quote:More than one die pair may fit this description and have no other features that differentiate it from VAM 10. I hate the whole multiple die pair thing. Probably because I don't fully understand it yet. Quite confusing esevially on the ones with like 10 pairings listed

Quote:More than one die pair may fit this description and have no other features that differentiate it from VAM 10. I asked a question about this at the Dallas ANA to JB, JR and RS and really didn't get an answer. Still confusing to me as well especially for listings with Die1, Die2 and even Die3 pairings with differentiating features.
