Well, by this time next week I should at least look like a numismatist. I ordered all my basic supplies - 2x2's, tubes, gloves, boxes, air-tites, etc. yesterday. Then today I remembered a Amazon gift card that I had and I picked up a QX5, and a CherryPickers Guide. All I need to do now is get some of those knock off albums from a guy on ebay, and I will be set! Currently I'm not able to do too much because I am completely unorganized, but not for much longer!

Don't forget some magnifying glass or loupe to get up close and personal.

Those QX5s are great! I have one, and it's a great break for my eyes after using a loupe for hours. I'd suggest a good loupe over a magnifying glass because it's ultimately less eyestrain.

Yea, I got one. 2 rows, 10" long. I figured if I just bought 600 2x2's I'm really going to need a place to put them. quote: Don't forget some magnifying glass or loupe to get up close and personal.
Already have a glass. I bought 5 5x glasses on ebay for $2.50 , oh and $8.00 shipping. Still need a loupe though... quote: Where did you order all your stuff?
I didn't know where to go, but I found a place called Wizard Coin Supply and they had decent prices and selection, and their site was very well organized. That is where I bought all the supplies. I found the QX5 on Amazon for $86 +shipping. quote: Sheeeeshhh !........now I'm reminded of how UNORGANIZED I AM !......I have soooo much work to do on my coins......dozens or hundreds of hours it seems !...I've been lazy and putting it off for months.....figured I had all winter ! I just spread a bath towel on the coffee table and sit there and sort coins or whatever while I watch TV and during commercials, but my DVR has kinda cut back the number of commercials I have to watch... But I gotta get something done before the weather gets nice and I start wanting to play golf ... (FORE!!) quote: Those QX5s are great! Yea, SuperDave is really gonna hate me, I have 10+ '21 Morgans that I am determined to 'VAM-ify'. But it should make it tons easier then squinting through a glass and trying to describe just what I am seeing...

In my 10" sleeves, 100 quarters fit when theyre stored in 2x2 envelopes....less if theyre in cardboard or plastic. If you're using plastic or cardboard, you'll need about 10 of those sleeves for 600 coins from cents to dollars.
Also, I plowed through 500 2x envelopes in about a month. Save a coin, kill a tree?

Uh-oh, sounds like I am going to be reordering soon! Oh well, in a shoebox in 2x2's is better then loose in a ziplock or the like. At least I will have the illusion of being well organized... (story of my life)
