Nicely done I don't know much about the first coin, but what you paid is about average for the jital. With those you generally want a coin that has as much of the Devanagari legend above the cow as possible--the more complete and sharper struck, the harder to find.

About your first coin... Those coins were struck by the "Muwahhids" (Almohades) in Al- Andalus (southern Spain) and Northern Africa of course but were imitated or counterfeited in a great number of christian states in the Mediterranean coast (Aragon, French states, Italian States) and of course in a great number of mints where individuals brought their silver to be coined in these coins. Then with these coins they carried them to northern Africa to exchange it for gold procedent of Sudan. The gold was valued there cheaper than in Europe. The profit was in carrying the silver coined in Muwahhids coins avoiding to pay the mint tax in Africa (about a 30% of the silver coined) and paying the mint tax in Europe (In Aragon a 10% of the silver coined); The pope claimed against this business because the coins beared the islamic faith motto, but all the teological problems were solved when the different christian states accorded to pay to the papal states a fee. The autentic coins were made of pure silver, but the christian copies were made of more debased silver (sometimes were made of copper cores plated with silver like the ancient counterfeits). These coins sometimes bears the name of the mint (not in your coin)
