I've been coin roll hunting for the past few months after finding a 1943 quarter with, what appears to be, a error.
Today I picked up five rolls of dollar coins from the bank to search. I received what appears to be a roll of uncirculated 2000 P Sacagawea coins and a roll of James Garfield coins.
The Sacagawea roll states, "Directly from the U.S. Mint." The James Garfield roll states, "N.F. String & Son, Inc."
Being a newbie, should I unroll these and search, keep them intact, something else? I'm at a loss.
In addition to these, I received three rolls of 1979 SBA coins.
Curiosity is my weakness, so I would probably open them just to see. However, whenever they are clearly labeled like this all you will probably just be looking to find gems, errors, or varieties. One thing to remember is that intact rolls like this might sell for a premium over the individual coin values.
