I'm a Brit who's going on holiday in Las Vegas next week. I got some dollars from a currency exchange over here. Amongst them were six consecutive $1 star notes.

Unreported-$1-Star-Notes?-2013-A2

The'yre Series 2013 and the serial numbers run from A05034067* to A05034072*. I'd heard of star notes before, so I looked them up on mycurrencycollection.com, and according to http://www.mycurrencycollection.com...star-notes/1 , they shouldn't exist. I've spent a little time reading up about star notes, but I'm no currency expert, so I figured I'd post them here in an appropriate forum to see if you guys thought they were anything particularly special before I spend them.

Printed in November 2015 according to my sources. Website denotes the notes went unreported on the BEP website and are estimating it was a run of 3.2 million notes.

Nothing wrong with your source....I just prefer mine.

Unless I'm reading that wrong, doesn't that say that the last star note printed in November was A03200000*? These notes start with A05.

Just noticed that, you're right.

I'll contact the owner of the website and ask if he has any additional information about your star notes.

These are well into run 2 and I don't see any value here.

Did you also receive other consecutive new notes with different letter combinations? If you did, what are some of the serial numbers? That information might help narrow down when your star notes were serialed.

I contacted the owner of USpapermoney.info and sent him a link to this thread, and he has edited his website to reflect a run of 6,400,000.

Sorry, I've just got back from the States and I've spent all the rest of my money so I can't tell you.

I did manage to sell the star notes on ebay for $26.

Yes, the Bureau has gotten really sloppy with their monthly reports of what's going on. I got stung buying a pair of 2013 B* zero start 05 or 06 (Run 2?) a while back as I could find nothing about their being printed. I think I paid $6 for the pair in CU so no real harm done but really not my thing. I keep my star purchases to Low print run notes, 640K or less.
