Hello all, I am new to this forum and curious if anyone out there knows or is familiar with 1974-1976 France piedfort gold proof centimes and also 1976 gold proof piedfort francs. I have been searching high and low and only able to find a few online. I do know they are rare coins due to the low mintage. Are they worth just the price of gold? Worth getting graded? thanks

I'm going to ask a mod to move this to World Coins.

Looking at Heritage auction results, the gold peidforts seem to sell for 10% or so over the price of gold, and periodically a fair bit more than that. I don't collect them, so I don't know what the reasoning is for the larger delta on some. They are all minted in pretty low quantities, but I don't think they're in high demand.
