Hi, I would like to know if this 1997 D Dime is considered as an error or not? I noticed the rim of the coin appears to have a bevel on the obverse and reverse sides. The edge is half as wide, as other Dimes. Maybe this is just a damaged coin? Thanks!

Probably a counting machine damaged the rim area. It is not an error. Just damage. It was normal when it was struck. Something happened to it along in its life. It may have been intentional.

doesn't look like anything a counting machine would do, unless it was processed thousands of times.
